I jumped the gun a little bit yesterday when I updated our online shop with our first men’s jacket.
I was soon flooded with messages asking if we were doing the payment plan system that was a success with our original women’s jacket.
It took us a little time to figure out how to do it seamlessly through our webshop, but as of this morning it is live.
What does this mean?
You are only required to make a 50% deposit to start an order of our jackets. Once your jacket is complete, you will be e-mailed a unique link to settle the balance.
Why take a deposit?
When I started LÉON, I wanted to avoid the problems a lot of young designers face. Mostly, dealing with retailers and expensive overstock. This is why I chose a Made to Order model, working closely with our factory in New York’s Garment District. In a traditional model, a retail shop will place a deposit to allow me to begin producing items they’ve ordered for their shop. With the retailer eliminated in our model, this deposit is transferred to the customer. I only produce what is ordered. No waste in fabric. No waste in stock. No more selling out of sizes.
I’ve also implemented a real time order status tracking page on our shop. This allows you to not only track your shipped packages directly by clicking the tracking number, but also check the status of your Made to Order items. I update your Made to Order status weekly, giving you a detailed note of where it is in the production line along with an estimated time of when your items will be complete.
